REAC Impossible 2020 Part III : REAC Inspection Protocol, Top REAC Deficiencies and More!

This is the third and the final part of the REAC Series that covers the overall REAC mission and Goal, REAC Inspector Code of Conduct, REAC Inspection Protocol, top REAC Deficiencies, and defect Scoring Overview. The theme of Part III is to impart a sufficient understanding of the overall process.  Thus the learner will be able to prioritize scarce resources in a time when housing is in short supply exacerbated by a lack of capital funds for maintenance and repairs.

Time and again a basic understanding of the major defects as defined by point values is the key to doing well on REAC inspections without breaking the budget.  You will be able to save the property money at the same time mitigating high point defects.  REAC Inspectors misapply the rules, so it is important to understand what they are looking for and the best way to avoid costly defects.

Webinar Agenda

The webinar by REAC expert Hank Vanderbeek will emphasize high point defect identification and how the points are calculated. It will demonstrate how to prioritize unit repairs pertaining to Fire Safety. Some of the defects to be addressed include Sprinklers, Fire Extinguishers, Smoke Detectors, Exigent Health and Safety with a focus on electrical defects, and Industry Standard Repair examples.

Hank will discuss why sprinkler heads area so important points-wise and how to inspect for defects, how to prepare fire extinguishers and fire hoes for a REAC inspection, what REAC requires regarding smoke detectors, and how a defect is scored for smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, and extinguishers defects.

You will also gain valuable knowledge about what REAC is looking for with regard to acceptable repairs, and doors, refrigerators, and downspouts will be discussed in detail.
